I’ve had an intern working with me for the month of July, Matt Brown. He is my wife’s cousin from up state New York and is in his last two years of Architecture at Clemson University. Matt wanted to learn how to do architectural illustration the” Old School’ way because his schooling is almost entirely computer oriented. While he was here I covered everything I teach in my website and advanced Perspective Projection (accurately creating a 3D wireframe from plans), which will be covered at a future date. Matt worked very hard and absorbed info like a sponge. The techniques I exposed him to will let him work along side digital technology while expressing his artistic abilities and creativity. It will help with real world challenges such as conveying design ideas quickly
This was great experience for me as well because it helped to hone my teaching skills. I would like to conduct workshops in the future and this was good practice.
Check out Matt’s profile page for more stuff. Also the Shadows lesson is online and also Reflections.
Keep drawing!
